fiance fiance fiance
June 15: we arrived home today from our beach mini-break to a Mum-made sign on the door. How cute is my Mum?! She is so excited for us - the wedding talk has already begun!
Zanne arranged 2 nights at the beach to celebrate our one year anniversary and guess what? This morning my love proposed! We're engaged! Fiance, fiance, fiance!
Today was my loveliest, happiest day so far (am I dreaming?). Who knew that being engaged would translate to being more in love??
My ring is perfect by the way. If you zoom in on the top left image you will see that Zanne gave me a diamond engagement ring that is not a diamond engagement ring. Such a radical word play!, and the perfect ring for me (it just needs to be re-sized).
This year's March and Fair Day was bigger and better than last year (10,000+ people!) and it was particularly significant for Zanne and I because we met while wristbanding at Pride last year. We were in our own little, love bubble today. It was fabulous.
June 12: We saw Pink! AKA the best concert I've ever seen - how does she manage to fly on a trapeze and sing upside down??
Pink is touring Australia for 3 months - she will perform 58 gigs, entertaining more than 600,000 fans in the process. She's breaking all sorts of records over here!

pie awards?
June 8: There is no kid cuter! Our nephew Noah works his Baby Elmo onesie. Too, too cute!
June 7: A few pics from our day at the Winter Sun Festival - Australia's Leading Rock & Roll Nostalgia Retro Event. I wish I could live at the Winter Sun!
The night was a fabulous success and everyone was full of praise for my wonderful girl - I'm very proud of her! The night was even more significant because my parents were in attendance - their first gay event! I love that they love Zanne.
Wine, awards, laughs, drag queens, drag kings, more laughs and more questions of Mr Leather by Cassie - a radical night!

Page 9 girl
I got my first by-line! For the first time in 6 years, something I've written has appeared in a publication with my name next to it. Working in PR I've become accustomed to seeing my words appear in the media with no name or someone elses name attached to them. Which is fine, it's what we do, and in fact it's actually quite the compliment to see a journalist put their name next to something I've written.
As a member of the Brisbane Pride Festival organising committee, I've been assigned the task of coordinating this year's Queens Birthday Community Awards. This includes all of the promotions and PR and so when I wrote a press release for Q News last week I expected that, as usual, the story would appear with no name. But here it is :)

I have to say.. I quite enjoy seeing my name in print!
