except for that one, there's not a cloud in the sky

August 23: Here we are on our journey from Brisbane to Vancouver. Such a long, sleepless two-days-in-one.
August 22: Our last Brisbane evening was spent watching my youngest brother's football (rugby league) game. He's the captain of his team. They won by heaps.
August 21: Zanne visited her family on the Gold Coast one last time pre-flight to Vancouver. Her Dad has been working in India for the last 6 weeks so this was the first day he met baby Giselle. Aw!

i call her princess face

August 12: Today we met our one week old niece, Giselle. Check these photos out - she is BEAUTIFUL!
August 11: When I was travelling in Europe it amused me that people believed the Kangaroos-in-our-backyard stereotype... Well, as it turns out, sometimes the stereotype is true.
Here is a photo my Mum took of some Wallabies hanging out just over the back fence. The Wallaby at the front has a little Joey in her pouch (but it was a bit camera shy). Rad hey?
August 10: Dinner at Kelly and Tarquin's house - mini pizzas yeah!!

more Giselle, because I can

We're finally meeting our new little neice tomorrow and I'm super excited. We bought her lots of essentials (nappies, towels, wet wipes, onesies etc) so we'll travel to the coast tomorrow and hang out with my sis and the baby for the morning. Then hopefully we'll get in for new haircuts. We're both in dire need of a haircut.

Here's a new piccie of little GiselleAnd here's a new piccie of the happy little family!

Gisellikins

Little Giselle already has a nickname - Gisellikins. She doesn't know that yet, but we're sure she's going to love it.

Sally and Giselle will be going home from the hospital today, which I'm sure Brandt is really excited for. We know they'll all enjoy being at home together as a family.

Sal sent us this picture of Giselle on Wednesday afternoon. How adorable is she?!

And this one came through last night. I told Shan it looks like Giselle is holding on tight saying "this is my mummy!" Sal said she's feeling better and more confident today. I guess nothing can ever really prepare you for the first time you have your tiny newborn in your arms and you have to work out what to do with them. I know Sal is going to be a great/cool mum!

This new little niece has Shan and I looking for donors, houses and high-paying yet family-friendly jobs in Vancouver...

she's here!

My sister Sally gave birth to little Giselle Hotere at 3.27am. She weighed 7 pound 1 ounce and is 50cm long. She's a mini version of my sister, right down to her big lips and cute nose. She's our first niece, and therefore the favourite niece from today.

Congrats Sal and Brandt and welcome to the family little one! x
